1.) What number do I call when it is not an emergency?

 You should call 440-934-1234 to report any suspicious activity, incidents, crimes or accidents of a non-emergency nature. 9-1-1 should be used for emergencies only.

For the Administrative section of the police department, you can call 440-934-1234.
For the Records section of the police department, you can call
440-934-7860.

 2.) How do I get a copy of a police report (crime or accident)?

 You can obtain a copy of a police report anytime between 7a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday or mail in a written request with a self addressed stamped envelope.

 3.) How can I get fingerprinted for work or license certification?

 Fingerprinting services are free-of-charge to its residents (corporate and residential). Appointments can be scheduled Mondays through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:00PM.

 4.) When will my report be ready (for release)?

 For accident reports, Officers have anywhere from one-to-five work days to turn in the initial accident report for public release.

For crime-related reports/incidents, there currently is no time limit on turning the report in for release. Once the report is turned in, the initial report may be available for release but any investigative documents may not be released until a “closed” or “inactive” status is placed on the case.

 5.) What is the curfew for minor’s in Avon?

 6.) Can Records fax a copy of my report to me?

 No. Records does not fax reports as payment must be received prior to its release. You must come in or send in a written request for a copy of your report.

 7.) Can I obtain a copy of my report on-line?

 No. The police department currently does not have on-line report viewing available.

 8.) How do I put my house on the vacation watch?

 Call anytime 440-934-1234 to set up a “house-watch”.

 

9.) How does my organization or group request Officers to come out to do “Kid Print?”

 

Call 440-934-1234 and leave a request with the name of the organization or group, the date and times you are requesting and a telephone number where you can be reached. An Officer will call you back and let you know if the service is available.

 

10.) Is there a charge for “Kid Print”?

No, the “Kid Print” is fee of charge, but donations are always welcomed to offset the cost of supplies and to keep the program running.
